Annual Report

It is my customary duty to present before you a brief roundup of the current academic session.

I believe that the purpose of education is to replace an empty mind with an open mind. The direction in which a child starts his education will determine his future life. The whole object of education should be to develop the mind that works and, to free a child’s potential by instilling in him a curiosity to learn, so that he will continue to learn as long as he lives.

Below are the highlights of the year in a brief:

Academics

Himalayan Academy has been following the NCERT pattern for teaching. We are proud to say that all students from classes 1 to 7 has passed their exams and have been promoted to the next class. The students demonstrated seriousness and a willingness to learn throughout the year and hence we have such positive results. Also a big thanks to the teachers for putting in the effort required to take care of each student.

Sports and Games Events

Strenuous exercise and interest in games is an outlet for the vigor of youth. Ample opportunities were provided to our children to play and prove their mettle in various sports and games at school and regional level competitions.

Annual sports event was organised for inter class competition in the school campus. Both Track and field events were part of the competition. Students demonstrated their skills in running, high jump, long jump, cricket and football.

It is also a way to celebrate Diwali in school and teach the kids of victory of good over Evil.

The students have been following the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan since its inception. The school has made sure the school campus remains clean throughout the year. A big thanks to all the students in cooperating and the teachers for bringing a behavioural change among all students and staff. Also as part of the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan students took up the responsibility to clean up the community field after the republic day programme spreading the message of clean India a Healthy India.

The school and the students took up different environmental programmes throughout the year. In the month of May the school students planted 100 trees on the fences of the school. The school gardening club took the responsibility for this. They have also been planting plants along the school entrance for the beautification of the school. In August the students were given lessons on segregation of waste and to reduce, reuse and recycle waste. For this the school has installed different dustbins for dry and wet waste separately. Students completed projects on how to reuse and recycle waste too.

I would also like to express my grateful thanks to our Chairman, all our higher authorities, the parent community and students whose whole-hearted cooperation has enabled us to complete all our tasks successfully.
